Day 4

And so another day passes. Today we got an early start, checking out of our cabin at 8:15 and then hitting the Elephant Back Trail at around 8:30. Though in my opinion a tad more strenuous than yesterday (we are a couple hundred feet higher so there is even less oxygen in the air than before), the view was well worth it; with a stunning panoramic of Lake Yellowstone and the surrounding mountains.
After our hike we set out to see the Mud Volcano area, which contained one of our favorite features: Dragon’s Mouth (not due to the name, but due to the fact that it is a black cave that emits a low grumble, spews acrid steam, and boiling hot water flows out of it in ominous waves!). We then headed to see the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and the falls therein (as a matter of fact, we are driving along, touring and trying to pick up service for the blog post, and we just caught site of the magnificent feature! =D) At the Canyon we hiked along the river that feeds the Upper Falls, which was insanely flooded, toppling trees and damaging portions of the path in its wake!
By the time we were finished with our tramping, we (at least I was) were extraordinarily tired, so we went and checked into our room for the night. While mom and dad ‘rested’, I managed to do some spriting (for those of you wondering, Frontier will not be released until after the trip; sorry for any inconvenience) and Kendal did some reading and writing.
After a cup of coffee, we headed down to the Canyon Area visitor center, then to dinner (I had a delicious beef hot dog with chili and cheese, fries, milk, and chocolate ice cream for dessert). We also restocked our bread and got some gas for the car.
Currently we are driving around searching for wildlife, good views, and cellphone service. Hope you all are doing well!

RTC:
Mr. Pursel: Indeed, I love eating out! Haha, my mom was very angry at my dad for telling me to post that ‘exploring’ picture. Hey Michael! Did you guys do the brain jello for the church picnic today?

Grandma and Grandad: Glad he likes it! Mom is taking the majority of photos (Kendal has a camera and is taking pictures too, but they aren’t on the blog; she will probably show them to you some time after we return), but both dad and I have taken a few. The Lord has indeed surprised us, and we have certainly seen His handiwork displayed here!
