Day 11

Today we arose at an early hour (6:00 AM) and left Glacier National Park. Our next destination was Canada! When we arrived at the border, we were surprised by the extraordinarily low security! We drove up to a gate, were asked a few questions (basically, "Are you carrying anything dangerous?"), handed over our passports, and were quickly on our way. I never had to close the book in my hand! I love Canada!
After crossing, we drove 3 hours to Calgary (by the way, everything in Canada is in metric; the speed limit was 110 km/h: how fast were we going? [Answer in miles if you know]) where we went up into the Calgary Tower. The needle like structure is over 500 ft high and has an area at the top where the floor is glass (everyone but dad was brave enough to stand on it and look down; please give him a hard time for us).
After Calgary Tower, we headed to the Olympic Park where the 1988 Winter Olympics were held. Kendal and I were able to take a zip line from the top of the ski jump tower <video attached>. It was epic!
We then set out for Banff, an hour and ten minute drive, and are now established in our awesome, two room suite that will be our lodging until the end of our trip.

P.S. For all those at Truth Baptist: How did the Tomato Festival go? Any new visitors and/or converts?
Also, our Blog should be steady for the remainder of the expedition.

Day 10

Today we arose and made haste in order to hike St. Mary and Virginia Falls trail. As we were tramping along, Kendal spotted a bear crossing the path. We were all rather alarmed, save for Kendal, who believes us to be invincible or something, and dad had once again forgot the bear spray we purchased.
After the hike we checked in to our equestrian outfitters, only to be informed that our 12:00 half day hike had been downsized to a two hour ride, due to the bad conditions (rather windy!). We were to meet back at the corrals at 2:00. With two hours to kill, we took a stroll around Swiftcurrent Lake.
After the two hours had passed, we journeyed back to the corrals and began our ride. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy it as much as I could have, as the Lord was obviously trying to teach me a lesson regarding patience (never ask to be taught that; it isn't much fun!). You see, the rider in front of me was a boisterous young lad, who thought he knew all about horseback riding (yet somehow his horse continued to careen in all sorts of directions) and had no small amount of trouble keeping his mouth shut... Afterwards dinner was great, but right after we ordered our food, guess who walked in and was seated next to us? Yes... the lad. Hm. Patience, patience right? Thankfully, God gave me the grace to hold my tongue, until the pizza I ordered arrived, which was one of the finest my taste buds have had the pleasure of savoring!
After dinner, we went back to our room and watched our Bible study video (very good series on David by the way!) and freshened up a bit (nothing quite like the smell of horse... quite odorous!). We then topped off the evening by going to see a magnificent bard by the name of David Walburn, who was a local guitar playing song writer.
It was then off to bed for the night for the early rise in the morning.
