And so our trip comes to a close. Starting with a plan in a man's mind and culmintating in the exploration of a lifetime, this has been a trip to remember. We leave tomorrow at 6:30 AM and will hopefully arrive in DC by 3:30 PM. See you all soon!

Dear Adams Family,
ReplyDeleteWe have thoroughly enjoyed the blogs and the day by day insight into you family's Epic vacation.
We will pray for your safe travels tomorrow.
Mr. Pursel
Stephen, Teri, Logan, & Kendal,
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting three weeks it has been for us all. We will miss the daily contact but will also be somewhat relieved when you are home safely. You are hopefully enjoying a beautiful flight right now.
It was a busy weekend. Had company most of Saturday. Uncle Donald, Stephen, & Brandon came first to help Granddad move the tomb (casket) he had made for Chessie - MORBID thinks Brooke and myself! NO! my lap and foot warmer, shadow is still with us and hopefully for a long, long time! BUT he was worried that something might happen when he couldn't bury her, so the rest is history. Uncle David came right after that and spent a couple of hours giving us a history lesson with his little red wagon (actually belonged to Uncle Willie) and all the boxes and ammunition he had made plus the rifles, pistols, etc. that he uses in the re-enactments. Logan (maybe Kendal, too) you would have loved it. I want him to come back sometime when all you grandkids can be here. But he said that if we could all come when he does the re-enactment at Montpelier the 3rd weekend in August that you could dress up and carry the rifles and march with them (with your parents permission of course). He also brought us fish, squash, and cucumbers. Then, DeAnn and Kimberly came by for awhile to bring back some things they couldn't use that I had them look through. By then, it was time to meet Cyndee and family at China Buffet for her birthday dinner, and then to their house to open presents and have cake. Next home, to wash the salt water off the pickle and cover with clear water.
Sunday was busy, too. Church and from there to Orange to get the premiere Christmas ornaments and have lunch at the Silk Mill. I had enjoyed it when we took Mrs. Lamb to lunch there, and Granddad liked it, so maybe we'll have to eat there one of your visits. After that we had a short rest and quick dinner and then off to Mt. Lebanon to hear the report and testimonies from the Liberty Youth Trip. Cory had us in stitches - he has so much of his Dad's personality. Then, it was pour off the clear water, cut up the cucumbers and boil Alum water and to pour over them.
Granddad is back from his shopping trip, and he just handed me some beautiful orange daisies that need to be put in water, and then I need to find him a gift bag so must close.
We'll pray until you're home safely. Much love, Grandma
